John Chavis Middle earns accreditation as a quality school
Chavis takes PRIDE in being built on the fundamentals of Positivity, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence. One area of pride for the school is the personalized learning community that benefits the school’s 400 students. The personalized learning pays off in academics as students and teachers have met or exceeded academic growth on end-of-grade testing for the past three years. Chavis also stands out by offering high school courses in Math I, Spanish I, and world history. The school also develop its students skills outside of the classroom with Chavis CARES, which stands for Chavis Aspires to Reach Everyone through Sharing. The program promotes kindness, compassion, and caring for others. Next year, Chavis is excited to be home to the new Public Service Academy for Gaston County Schools. Congratulations to John Chavis Middle School on earning accreditation as a quality school.
