Anime Club Ms. Ritchie Every Friday, 3-4 Room 105 The Anime Club seeks to promote an interest in and appreciation of Japanese animation through viewing anime films, television series, and through discussion sessions. The gaming club is a club for everyone who plays video games, board games, tabletop, or even card games. Through a shared appreciation of gaming and anime, we can build friendships and help build other communities among students. We will spend half an hour viewing a chosen anime, and the other half hour gaming.
Art Club Ms. Crowl Mondays, 3-5 Room 501 Art club is a club for students who have completed Art I and who want to engage in a community of artists while expressing themselves creatively through a variety of mediums.
Ashbrook Civinettes Ms. Wyatt and Ms. Carruthers Every other Wednesday 7:30 am / 3:05 pm Room 129 The Civinettes are a service organization for Ashbrook's young women. We volunteer and within Ashbrook High School as well as the Gaston County community. The Civinettes Club is a part of the Ashbrook legacy and tradition since the beginning. All Ashbrook young women are invited to join!
Bible Club/Fellowship of Christian Athletes Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Hall To be determined - see Mr. Rhodes or Mr. Hall Room 103 Bible Club activities include student led devotions, outside speakers, and service projects.
Chorus (Ninth Grade Chorus, Fourth Period Chorus, and Concert Choir) Mr. Biedenbender Daily, during class Room 402 Students in chorus learn to sing and perform several times each year.
Cubing Club Mr. Sims Tuesdays, 3-4 Room 217 Have you ever dreamed of being able to solve a Rubik's Cube? Then you should join the Cubing Club! Come learn to master the basic cube, increase your solving speed, and try many unique and challenging puzzles!
Drama Club/International Thespian Society Mr. Buckner Every Monday, 3 Auditorium The drama club will engage in a variety of drama activities.
Gaming Club Mr. Seay Tuesdays, 3-4:30 Room 132 Members of the gaming club come together to form a diverse community of students who enjoy many types of games. Our members play board games, role playing games, and video games. Don't miss out!
Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Mr. Birnstihl and Mr. Urig Every Thursday, 3-4 Room 120 The Gay Straight Alliance is a student-run club which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia.
Interact Club Ms. Klingler First Thursday of each month, 3 TBD - see Ms. Klingler Interact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club and offers leadership and volunteer training for students at Ashbrook. Every year the Interact Club has two major public service projects. Our first project is over the Thanksgiving break, where the students service dinner at a convalescence home. Our other project is in the spring, when we help put on the Special Olympics. We also are involved in various small service projects in between the two main projects.
Junior Marshals Ms. Childers and Ms. Guzauskas Last 2 weeks of school Room 235 Junior Marshals are chosen based on GPA and help with graduation activities.
National Honor Society Ms. Miller As Needed Room 127 Seniors who had a weighted GPA of 4.0 or higher at the end of 1st semester their Junior Year. It is a service organization that sponsors the Mr Ashbrook Pageant.
Poetry Out Loud Mr. Birnstihl See Mr. Birnstihl for more information Room 120 Do you enjoy modern and classic poetry? Poetry Out Loud is an annual recitation contest that encourages students to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. Join us to prepare for the school level competition, which will be in December. This club will meet first semester only.
Slam Poetry Team Mr. Birnstihl Every Wednesday, 3-4 Room 120 If you are interested in performing at or attending slam poetry events, you should come check out our club! We will help you write, workshop, and practice your performance poems to get them competition ready! We will also spend the year selecting six students who will represent Ashbrook at the third annual breatheINK Youth Poetry Inked Uprising High School Slam in the spring.
Student Council (SGA) Mr. Carsner Tuesdays, 7:15 am Room 231 Students are elected to represent their grade level in student government. These students plan events such as pep rally and work to improve school spirit.
Teacher Cadet Ms. Childers Daily, 2nd Period Room 223 The Teacher Cadet program provides students an opportunity to learn about being a teacher through firsthand experience working with younger students.
