Degrees and Certifications:

Chelsea Nichols

I attended Belmont Abbey College for undergraduate school where I played collegiate softball and majored in Elementary Education (K-6). I received my AIG licensure and started my teaching career at Bessemer City Middle as a 6th grade teacher from 2012-2017. I transitioned back to my elementary roots in 2017 at Sherwood Elementary, where I taught 5th grade until 2021. I graduated from Gardner Webb University with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and began as the Assistant Principal here at Belmont Central Elementary in 2021.

I am recently married, have a little boy who is the light of my life, and I am excited to be back in the Belmont community that I was raised in. I attended Belmont Central for elementary school, and I feel it is a great honor to be back here as the Assistant Principal now. Although I am no longer residing in Belmont, I still have ties to the area and look forward to continuing relationships that I have already created with students and staff here at Belmont Central.
