When the morning bell rings on Monday, August 26, more than 31,000 students will start the 2019-2020 academic year.
Gaston County has its first A+ School, and the distinction goes to W.A. Bess. The school will focus on infusing the arts across the curriculum.
Twenty-five students received a gift card from Dick’s Sporting Goods to recognize their participation in the ‘STAND UP Gaston’ program.
The Board of Education recognized the outstanding efforts of schools, students, and employees during its May and June meetings.
Three students in the Class of 2019 received the Paul F. Fuller Scholarship, which is given to students in the mentoring program.
