I am so excited to be a Bess Bulldog! W. A. Bess Elementary is an amazing school with dedicated teachers working hard to challenge students to reach their full academic potential.  Our warm, inviting culture welcomes our families as soon as they enter the door. Our school is a place where children love and parents trust.

My journey in education began in South Carolina where I graduated high school followed by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in History at the College of Charleston and then a Masters of Art in Teaching degree from Winthrop University. I began my career as a high school teacher and then moved to Gaston County, N.C. where I continued teaching at a middle school. After obtaining the School Administration license from Gardner-Webb University, I worked in the Gaston County Schools Human Resources Department as the Beginning Teacher/Mentor Specialist and then as Employee Relations Specialist.  Because of my passion for interacting with students, my goal was to be back in the schools and was honored to be chosen to serve as Principal. I strive every day to make a positive difference in the lives of people.

When I am not working, I enjoy taking long walks, watching great movies and spending quality time with my family.
