Business, Legal and Information Science

  • Academy Coordinator: Rachel Wise Martin

The Business, Legal and Information Sciences Academy  consists of two pathways: Business and Legal Studies and Computer Engineering.

The Business and Legal Studies pathway introduces students to the broad career opportunities in the business and legal service industry and, in the process, equips them to make sound choices for their future. It provides students with industry-related courses of study incorporating Principals of Business, Accounting I, Business Financial Planning, Marketing and Business Law. The pathway enables the students to complete internships at leading business and legal services corporations, obtain employment after graduation, and pursue higher education.

Computer Engineering Technology emphasizes the skills needed to build, upgrade, configure and troubleshoot computers, peripherals and operating systems. Areas of study include printer, portable systems, networks, Internet, and customer interaction. The program focuses on both routing and switching, as well as WAN switching solutions across the disciplines of network design and support. Curriculum content follows industry guidelines to prepare students to seek A+ certification as well as Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) certification.
