My name is Austin Ferguson, I was born and raised in Gaston County! I went to school at Gaston College, where I received my associates degree and then immediately transferred to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I received my Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Minor in both American Studies and History. I then decided to tutor for over 3 years while also pursuing a career in education and certification. I am an advent hiker, movie buff, history nerd.

Hi! My name is Courtney Lawing. I graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 2016 with a major in elementary education and a minor in theater.

Helping students build foundational skills is my passion. I love that moment when students finally achieve a hard goal or understand a difficult concept.

I live in Gastonia, NC with my husband Wade and our dogs Mocha and Dallas. My hobbies include: reading, lounging by the pool and taking the dogs on walks.

Mrs. Rymer

I am a 2003 graduate of Alice Lloyd College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. Originally from Pippa Passes, KY, I have lived here in Gaston County with my family since 2006. I have been with Gaston County Schools since 2017, and with Brookside since 2018. I am married to Shawn Rymer, and have two wonderful children; Cameron and Lilly. When I am not at school, you will probably find me on a ball field or in a basketball gym; as we are a sports loving family.
