Mrs. Wallace is excited to serve a fourth year as the principal at Brookside for the 2024-2025 school year! She has been an administrator with Gaston County Schools for the past 18 years. Mrs. Wallace has a passion for interacting with students and ensuring everyone's needs are met. Her belief is that school should be a place children love and parents trust.
Originally from Union County, Mrs. Wallace attended Piedmont High School where she was active in the marching band and drama. She later attended Appalachian State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Mrs. Wallace moved to Gaston County to begin her teaching career and has just completed her 25th year with the school system. In August 1999, Mrs. Wallace began teaching fourth grade at Bessemer City Central Elementary School where she taught for seven years.
After graduating with her Masters of Arts in School Administration, Mrs. Wallace was named as an assistant principal for Gaston County Schools. She served in this capacity for nine years at various schools. Mrs. Wallace is proud of the time she's dedicated to the students in Gaston County and thankful for the relationships she's built throughout the district.
Mrs. Wallace has been married for 25 years and has two beautiful daughters. Her oldest, Ashlyn, attends UNCW and her youngest, Morgan, is a senior at Highland School of Technology. As an involved parent with Gaston Dance Theatre, Mrs. Wallace hopes to bring a love and appreciation for dance (especially classical ballet) to our community. She is an avid reader who loves Mexican cuisine.
