Dr. Rebecca Wilson
Dr. Rebecca Wilson, Principal
Dr. Wilson was born and raised in a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. Her mom is a retired teacher and her father is a retired Colonel in the Air Force. She attended Clemson University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University. She obtained a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. Dr. Wilson’s educational experience started at National Trail Middle School in Ohio where she taught middle school for two years. After moving to North Carolina, she taught at Grier Middle School for three years, was an assistant principal at Ashbrook High School for six years, principal at Bessemer City Middle School for eight years, and principal at Ashbrook High School for eight years. She returned to Bessemer City Middle School in July 2024.
Dr. Wilson is married and has two grown sons and a (soon-to-be) daughter-in-law, who all attended Appalachian State University. On Saturdays, you will either find her in Boone cheering on the Mountaineers, cheering on her Clemson Tigers, or watching college football with her husband. She also has a love of traveling, especially to the ocean.
She is excited about returning to Bessemer City Middle School, the Home of the Tigers!
