Mrs. Kelli Glisan
New Hope Family,
I am beyond excited to serve as the Principal of New Hope Elementary School! My name is Kelli Glisan (pronounced just like the word glisten) and this will be my 21st year as an educator.
I grew up in Taylorsville, North Carolina and attended schools in the Alexander County School District. I received my undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in Elementary Education. I attended Wingate University to earn my Masters in Elementary Education, and attended UNC Charlotte where I completed the Aspiring High School Principals’ Program through the CMS Principal Pipeline Initiative. I am licensed as a principal and a curriculum specialist. During my 20 years in education, I have served as a third grade teacher for 12 years, 1 year as a second grade teacher, an Instructional Coach, a New Teacher Coach, a Dean of Students in a pre-K-8 school, and as an Assistant Principal. I am honored to have been named the 2024 North Carolina Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year by the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association.
I view a collaborative school environment dedicated to coaching teachers and leveraging their leadership skills as the key to leading a successful school. I believe partnerships with parents and community stakeholders are essential to creating a positive learning environment for all.
I have been married to Tim Glisan for 17 years. We share two amazing children, Eli (14) who will be attending South Point High School and Elena (11) who will be attending Cramerton Middle. I’m also a dog mom to my sweet Piper (4) a Maltese, Bichon Frise mix. During my free time, I enjoy being outside in nature, spending time with family, and attending yoga classes.
