Carol Abernethy

Hi New Hope Families! My name is Carol Abernethy and I'm a Kindergarten teacher at New Hope. This is my 6th year at our school; however, it's my 18th year in the classroom. I have taught Kindergarten, First, and Second grades. I grew up in Charlotte and later went to Meredith College in Raleigh. I studied Speech Pathology while I was at Meredith. A few twist and turns later, I attended East Carolina University and graduated with a teaching certificate and Masters degree in Elementary Education. One of my favorite things about teaching elementary aged children is the community and bond that is created in our classroom.
