School classes honor the Board of Education during annual observance
In observance of School Board Recognition Month, elementary school classes in Gaston County Schools “adopted” members of the Gaston County Board of Education.
The nine citizens who serve on the Gaston County Board of Education are business professionals, community advocates, and civic leaders, who care about the children of Gaston County Schools and the future of the community. The Board members epitomize service to others through their hard work, leadership, commitment, and expertise in guiding the public schools in Gaston County.
To recognize and pay tribute to the Board of Education members and Superintendent Morgen Houchard, an elementary school class “adopted” a Board member. Representatives from the 10 schools attended a recent Board meeting to present a framed picture of the class to a Board member along with “thank you” cards and other items.◾Board chairman Josh Crisp, who represents the Dallas Mountain Township, was recognized by students in Kelly O’Reilly’s third grade class at Carr Elementary School.
