School Showcase and Parent Fair offered families insight into Gaston County Schools
The "Gaston County Schools Showcase and Parent Fair" took place on Saturday, February 3 at Stuart W. Cramer High School. The event aimed to provide parents with insight into the many educational opportunities that are available in Gaston County Schools.
Families from across Gaston County were encouraged to attend, including parents with children in private, charter, virtual, or home schools.
Attendees had the chance to explore booths representing all 56 schools and engage with school representatives to learn about various academic programs and extracurricular activities. Additionally, parents attended information sessions covering topics such as curriculum, college planning, career and technical education, exceptional children, multilingual learners, and academically gifted programs.
Parents were also able to enroll their children in the school district's 22 magnet schools and academies and kindergarten and pre-kindergarten programs and facilitate student transfers. Furthermore, lunch was provided, and a series of fine arts performances highlighted the talents of students from all grade levels.
The Showcase and Parent Fair was an expansion of the school district's annual School Choice Fair. Applications are being accepted now for the 22 magnet school and academy options that are available in Gaston County Schools. The deadline to submit an application is March 8.
