The goals of the Office of Professional Learning are to:
- provide quality professional learning opportunities that will meet the needs of all Gaston County employees;
- support the district's commitment to life-long learning; and
- enhance Gaston County Schools’ goal to “Provide professional learning opportunities in every school where employees receive high quality, ongoing training in best practices.
Professional learning opportunities will enable certified employees to earn CEU credits for certification renewal. The professional learning will contribute to employees fulfilling their NC Teacher Evaluation Professional Development Plan requirements, as well as assist in the implementation of School Improvement Plans. Workshops are also provided for GCS employees seeking sponsored and non-sponsored credit.
