Doug Dangler and George Hite are the Energy Managers for Gaston County Schools. In this role, each of the energy mangers are responsible for monitoring Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) controls throughout the district. They track all utility invoices and use the information to analyze energy use and costs for 56 schools and 8 support facilities.
Doug and George routinely visit GCS school buildings at night, weekends, and during the holidays to insure they are in compliance with the Board’s Energy Policy and Guidelines. The Energy Policy and Guidelines can be accessed by clicking on the links below.
EduCon Energy, a local consultant provides assistance with program development, training and data analysis.
Total costs for all utilities in Gaston County Schools for the 2016/2017 school year was $6,456,418.
