Preschool Pyramid Model
-
Pre-kindergarten will be implementing the Preschool Pyramid Model to address challenging behaviors in order to prevent suspension and expulsion at such a young age. This multi-tiered approach promotes the social and emotional development of young children. It’s a framework with a focus on promoting the social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of young children from birth to five, reducing the use of inappropriate discipline practices, promoting family engagement, using data for decision-making, integrating early childhood mental health consultation and fostering inclusion. More information on the Pyramid Model can be found at the National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations.
